摘要:In this talk, I will introduce the research progress of our group (https://www.uts.edu.au/staff/david.mcgloin) in University of Technology Sydney, and introduce several research areas of university to explore more chances for cooperation. The following research is our group interests. Optical Manipulation and Trapping (Optical tweezers) Airborne Trapping of Aerosols Droplet and Aerosol Lasers Raman Spectroscopy Cell Mechanics Microfluidics Biophotonics Biomedical OpticsMicroscopy |
简历:https://www.uts.edu.au/staff/david.mcgloin David McGloin has a background in optical physics, graduating with a undergraduate degree in Laser Physics and Optoelectronics and a PhD in Laser and Atomic Physics, both from the University of St. Andrews. After his PhD he joined the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory working on optical imaging systems, before returning to St. Andrews to work as a postdoc on laser cooling and guiding of atoms. He started his own research group after being awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship, based around the use of shaped light fields for the manipulation of microscopic particles, especially aerosols. In 2007 he moved to the University of Dundee to take up a Lectureship, where he continued to work on optical physics, branching out into a range of projects looking at biophotonics and biomedical imaging: exploring super resolution microscopy, cell mechanics, cell division, cellular adhesion, Raman spectroscopy, optical coherence tomography and elastography, multiphoton imaging and applications in prostate and bladder cancer diagnosis. He also developed microfluidic tools for examining cell mechanics with a view to studying the cell mechanics of cancer cells. At Dundee he was also Head of Physics as well as the Associate Dean for Research in the School of Science and Engineering. He joined UTS in January 2018 as the Director of Research Programs and to start a new research group, focusing initially on optical manipulation of aerosols and droplet lasers as well as in biophysics/biomedical engineering. He is open for discussion about collaborative opportunities, and is keen to take on students in areas associated with optical physics, biophtonics, microfluidics, biomedical engineering and related topics. |
